Dolly Parton Defends Miley

In a recent Fox news interview Dolly Parton defended her "honorary Goddaughter" Miley Cyrus:

"I hate it when people criticize her. She is a great singer, she has a great voice. She's a great little entertainer and she can speak to you like she is 50 years old. She'll land in the right place. I really know she has everything it takes. She is just trying to find her way and she will."

Miley Cyrus Leopard Print Dress

New pictures of Miley and Liam out at Paty's Diner on Thursday morning. Miley was all smiles as she wore a leopard print dress and boots. It looks like Miley got a slight sunburn as you can tell by the tan lines.

Can't Be Tamed - Billboard Update

As expected, the new album Can't Be Tamed opened at #3 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It sold around 102,000 copies according to Billboard.

Because of the album sales, Can't Be Tamed the song jumped back into the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The song charted at #18 in its 6th week on the chart.

Ashley Greene and Thomas Jane join LOL Cast

Twilight Eclipse star Ashley Greene and "Hung" star Thomas Jane are joining the cast of the new Miley Cyrus movie LOL. Ashley Hinshaw and George Finn have also been added to the cast.

Ashley Greene will reportedly play a high school "bad girl," while Thomas Jane will play Miley's dad in the movie. Ashley Hinshaw will play Miley's best friend. Douglas Booth has already joined the cast as Miley's love interest.

Rat on Miley's Shoulder

Miley Cyrus posted a video on her YouTube channel thanking the fans for nominating her for the Teen Choice Awards, and saying that she won't be able to attend the awards because she will be filming her new movie. The funny thing about the video is the (pet?) rat on Miley's shoulder the whole time. Liam walks into the video at the end and says, "Oh my God, There's a rat on your shoulder!" Miley then screams, "Shut up! Oh my..." and then the video cuts off. Pretty funny stuff from the comedy duo of Cyrus and Hemsworth.

Can't Be Tamed First Week Sales

The new Miley Cyrus album Can't Be Tamed will be the Number 3 album in the USA selling 106,553 copies in the first week of release.

The Number 1 album will be Eminem - Recovery (753,870 copies) followed by Drake - Thank Me Later (156,451).

I have to think this is somewhat of a disappointment, considering Miley's last full album Breakout was #1 and sold 366,267 copies in its first week. This means Can't Be Tamed sold less than 1/3 of what Breakout sold in its first week.

Now, it's possible that digital sales aren't being counted in this. I thought most of the new charts counted digital sales but maybe this one doesn't. iTunes currently lists Can't Be Tamed as the number 1 album.

These numbers are from Hits Daily Double, which uses Mediabase tracking, so the final numbers might be slightly different from Billboard, which uses SoundScan. I know Billboard counts digital sales, so if there's any major difference between the two charts that's probably why.
