Miley Cyrus is slightly ahead of Sugarland in a fight for the #1 album in America according to the latest numbers.
On Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart, released today (July 25), unweighted sales of "Breakout" through the close of business yesterday stood at 205,000, ahead of "Love on the Inside" with 189,000.
Billboard estimates the nine merchants who report to Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart -- Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Circuit City, iTunes, Starbucks, Borders, Target, Anderson Merchandisers and Handleman Co. -- comprise about 80% of all U.S. album sales.
No word on whether all of the pre-orders are counted yet. I would suppose that Miley would have the advantage in that department.
